Highland castle backdrop for The Only Way is Essex special

A stunning Highland location will be on TV screens all over the UK tonight – as the backdrop for The Only Way is Essex Christmas special.

This year’s festive edition of the hit show takes place at Ackergill Tower.

The cast and crew visited the area last month and were quick to share images showing them seeing the sights on social media.

The 15th century castle, which now operates as a five-star hotel, 15 miles from John O’Groats.

Mike Clare, founder of Amazing Venues, which owns the hotel, said the cast were great during the stay.

“The TOWIE cast are such fun and everyone there was very excited to have them stay for the week. While we cannot say exactly what was filmed on location but we are looking forward to seeing it aired next week.”
