A fishing crew has been rescued by lifeboat after losing power in rough seas near Oban.
The town’s lifeboat crew were dispatched to rescue the stricken vessel at 7.16pm on Tuesday.
The fishing boat had broken down in rough seas about one mile south of the Corran Narrows.
The fishing craft’s two crew had dropped anchor to await the arrival of the lifeboat but due to the strong winds they weren’t able to stay in the area.
The lifeboat arrived at the scene about 8.10pm and the decision was taken to bring the fishing craft under tow.
However, the sea conditions meant that that the fishing crew were unable to prevent spray from filling the vessel’s bilge and the decision was taken to stop at Linnhe Marina in order to transfer a salvage pump into the boat.
Once the fishing boat had been cleared it was secured in the marina and the two crew were taken aboard the lifeboat and taken back to Oban.
The lifeboat got back into Oban and was ready for service again just before midnight.
