The vehicle went on fire while at the junction with the B9176 road at Skiach Services, shortly before 4.50pm. A single fire appliance from Invergordon went to the scene and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire by 5.20pm. A fire service spokesman said that the car was completely destroyed by the fire. A police spokesman confirmed that the road was reopened at 6.45pm. The spokesman added that the single occupant of the vehicle was not hurt and that the fire is currently being treated as unexplained.
