Firefighters and police remain in attendance at Thurso Caravan Park on Smith Terrace in the Caithness town. The emergency services were called at about 3.10pm after receiving reports of the leaking cylinder. Two fire crews from Thurso are at the scene. Police officers have closed the A9, which is referred to as Smith Terrace in the town. A spokesman for the force said a 500m (1,640ft) exclusion zone had been set up area the cylinder.
