A design team is being sought for the redevelopment of a former school building in the centre of Oban.
Oban Communities Trust wants the Rockfield Centre to be a creative cultural hub which will operate as a social enterprise celebrating arts, culture, history, heritage, enterprise and community well-being.
The former school was saved from the bulldozers after a community outcry at a council plan to sell it to a housing association for £1 and build flats on the site.
Now a notice on the Public Contracts Scotland website is seeking a suitably accredited and experienced architect-led design team for the Rockfield Centre project.
The deadline for applications is January 27.
The design team will be required to undertake various studies, including to determine the conservation approach for the main listed building, explore options for the development of buildings on the site, establish a masterplan and phased programme.
It will also be expected to establish realistic financial requirements, support applications to funding sources and enhance and consolidate the existing business plan.
