A missing Edinburgh man with “various health conditions” is believed to be in the Highlands.
Ronald Avinou is thought to have traveled to Thurso on Saturday, January 9.
However, he has not been in contact with his family since Sunday, January 10 and police have said they are concerned for the welfare of the 66-year-old.
Inspector David Robertson of Gayfield Police Station in Edinburgh said: “Ronald has various health conditions and we’re growing increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
“He’s a keen hill walker who may have travelled to the Durness and Tounge areas, also.
“We’re asking anyone who may have seen Ronald in this time, or has information which can help us establish his whereabouts, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Mr Avinou is described as white, 5ft 8inches tall, with a slim build. He has long grey/white hair and a long white beard.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
