Police have confirmed the loss of service of telephone lines in Longhope, Orkney.
The lines are down and efforts so far to restore the lines have failed but efforts remain ongoing.
Police have warned that the loss of service includes the loss of the 999 emergency lines but have advised that mobile network coverage is still available and Coastguard personnel are currently manning the coastguard station in Longhope should anyone be in need of emergency services.
