The highly-acclaimed production of Robert Burns the Musical had its Highland Premiere in front of a hugely appreciative audience at Macdonald Aviemore Resort this weekend.

The modern interpretation of the Bard’s life and work was written and produced by Rock Academy’s Tish Tindall and was originally the brainchild of pop legend Michael Jackson and celebrity David Gest.

Burns’ best known standards were mixed with a musical commentary composed by Tindall to narrate Burns’ life, whose modern setting portrayed him as a young breakthrough poet and songster who performed his Tam O’Shanter to an X-Factor style show.

Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s sales director Jess Atkinson said: “What a tremendous performance. It was terrific to see such amazingly talented young people performing here in Aviemore.

“We are delighted to have been able to give them this opportunity and for so many people to have enjoyed performances by some stars of the future here at Macdonald Aviemore Resort.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and look forward to seeing more from the young stars of Rock Academy as their careers progress.”
