Photo credit should read: Andrew Milligan/PA Wire A man has died after he was caught in a large avalanche in north Lochaber earlier today. A large-scale rescue operation was launched following the incident on the 3710-feet high Creag Meagaidh, shortly after 3pm today. Four mountain rescue teams, with 67 personnel involved, were called to the scene, after cries of help were heard by other climbers. Two men were subsequently found by rescue teams and they were airlifted to hospital. However, police have now confirmed one of the men has died, while the other remains in a serious condition. Police Officers, a SARDA Dog and a coastguard rescue helicopter from Inverness were all involved in the operation. The mountain rescue team had been searching for a missing couple on Ben Nevis when they were called away.
