Welsh rockers Feeder have been announced among the acts confirmed to headline of this year’s Loopallu festival.
Having sold more than five million records – including the anthem Buck Rogers – the band will take to the stage in Ullapool in their only Scottish festival gig of the year.
Vocalist and guitarist Grant Nicholas “We are very excited to close the festival season in Scotland. Scotland has always been one of our favourite places to play and this festival has a great reputation, so we look forward to seeing some new and old faces again.”
Joining them at the festival on September 30 and October 1 will be 1980s/90s indie band The Wonder Stuff, ska group The Selecter, X-factor star Lucy Spraggan, traditional band Manran, as well as Dj Mark Radcliffe in his new “pirate folk” band Galleon Blast.
Mr Radcliffe said: “The good ship Galleon Blast can’t wait to maraud across the Minch and come ashore at Loopallu for a weekend of cacophonous carousing and gang-planking grog guzzling.”
The festival doubles the population of Ullapool for the weekend, and usually features an eclectic line up of acts who appear at the big top tent and at fringe events after hours in the village pubs.
