Clothing belonging to a missing businessman has been recovered near Drumnadrochit.
Jason Gates was reported missing on March 17 and a major search operation has been ongoing since.
At the weekend personnel from Kintail Mountain Rescue, search dogs and police recovered a number of items, including a yellow North Face jacket and a pair of black trousers which are believed to belong to Mr Gates.
Police have previously released a CCTV image of Mr Gates in Inverness on March 14, days before he was reported missing, wearing a yellow jacket similar to the one recovered.
A different jacket was recovered last week to the west of Drumnadrochit last week.
However, there has been no definite sightings of the 36-year-old, who travelled to the Highlands from his home in the Portsmouth area.
A police spokeswoman said yesterday that the family of Mr Gates were being kept updated on progress of the search.
She added: “Police Scotland officers are renewing their appeal to the public for information in relation to missing 36-year-old Jason Gates following a number of items of clothing being found in the Drumnadrochit area.
“Police have recovered a number of items including a yellow North Face jacket and a pair of black trousers which are thought to belong to the missing person Mr Gates.
“Officers have asked that anyone who is in the area and might have seen Mr Gates to contact them.”
Concern was raised about Mr Gates after his beloved spaniel Max was caught after killing sheep on farmland near Drumnadrochit while running loose.
The accountant’s Audi was also found parked in the centre of Drumnadrochit after concern was raised for his welfare.
Mr Gates is described as being approximately 6ft 3in and of slim build with short cropped greying hair and facial stubble.
It is not known what clothes he is wearing but he habitually wears black jeans, a T-shirt, black padded jacket and a tweed jacket.
He may also have been wearing walking boots and carrying a rucksack.
The police spokeswoman added: “Inquires in the Drumnadrochit area have been ongoing since March 17 and the public are thanked for their ongoing support.
“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
