Police have named the woman killed in a crash on the A9 yesterday.
Amanda Harold, 44, was driving on the road at approximately 10.45am when her black Mazda 6 was involved in a crash with a grey Vauxhall Astra.
The crash happened near Dalwhinnie. An air ambulance was called to the scene along with two road ambulances but Ms Harold, from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, died at the scene.
A man, a woman and two young children travelling in the Astra sustained cuts and bruises.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow for a full investigation to take place.
It is understood that this is the fourth fatal accident at the same spot on the A9.
Badenoch and Strathspey councillor Bill Lobban said: “It’s yet another tragic event on the A9 which is very sad for everyone concerned, especially family and friends of the deceased. The sooner the A9 is dualled from top to bottom, the better.”
