A pensioner has been charged in connection with the murder of Inverness woman Elizabeth MacKay.
Police have confirmed a 70-year-old man is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with the death.
Ms MacKay was found dead in her home in the Hilton area of the city last week.
The 60-year-old was last seen “alive and well” on Tuesday afternoon, and was discovered by two of her friends on Thursday.
She moved into the Hilton area about eight years ago – to a home previously occupied by Brian Grant, the killer who was convicted in 2007 of murdering Ilene O’Connor and burying her in the garden.
