A new fun event celebrating comics, pop culture, movies and music is to be launched in Lochaber later this year.
Fort Con – the first Fort William Comic Con and Expo – is to be held in October and is expected to draw pop culture fans and exhibitors from all over Scotland, the UK and beyond.
Events and promotions company The 57th Parallel has joined forces with Highlands Entertainment for the event, which is aimed at the community and is being billed as “one of the most fun events on the Fort William calendar”.
Fort Con creator Ben Belton said: “Fort Con is not simply about comics, it is a celebration of pop culture, movies, TV, animation, games, music, celebrities and more importantly – fun!
“We expect hundreds of people from the local area alone to show up in an outstanding and colourful array of costumes.
“The Fort Con crew is made up of dedicated local volunteers who want to make Fort Con an event to remember.”
The event, which is being staged with private investment and sponsor funding, will be held at the Nevis Centre in Fort William and various other smaller venues over the weekend of October 22-23.
Tickets will go on sale at the start of the summer.
