A Lochaber care home is celebrating after getting top marks following an inspection by the Care Inspectorate.
Abbeyfield Ballachulish received an overall “Excellent” Grade 6 – the highest grade possible – which means it sits in the top two per cent of care homes in Scotland.
Abbeyfield’s day care centre and housing support services were also graded as “Excellent”.
The home relies on fundraising through the local community, grant funding, local business support and partnership working with NHS Highland.
Abbeyfield Ballachulish Trustees chairman John McLaren said: “The board of trustees are absolutely delighted that our care services have achieved such a high grading from the independent Care Inspectorate and I would like to thank our staff, who have worked with great dedication and commitment to achieve such an excellent standard.
“We would also like to thank everyone in the community and NHS Highland, who have supported the charity in the past year.”
