Police are appealing for witnesses after the death of a man, who was found lying on the ground near to the harbour in Kyle of Lochalsh.
The 61-year-old was discovered in the early hours of Saturday morning and was taken to hospital, but died on Sunday afternoon.
Officers are asking people to come forward who were in the area on Friday night or Saturday morning.
Detective Inspector Caroline MacKay said: “We are keen to establish how this man came to be lying at the harbour-side.
“He appears to have lain there for a period of time and was suffering from the effects of exposure to the cold when he was taken to hospital for treatment.
“We understand that he had been at the Lochalsh Hotel and the Co-operative shop on Friday evening and we would like to know his movements after that.
“If anyone saw him or spoke to him that evening or Saturday morning, we would like to hear from them.
“He is described as wearing blue jeans, a maroon top and a dark jacket with light grey sleeves.
“It is understood that he was known locally and anyone who has information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
