Three children and a woman were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in overturned on a road in the Highlands.
The four people had a lucky escape without serious injuries from the accident, which happened on the B817 Evanton to Alness road in Ross-shire yesterday morning.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene about a mile east of Evanton at 9.20am after reports that the car had gone off the road.
It came to rest on its roof in the trees a short distance from the road.
All four of the occupants were able to escape from the overturned vehicle, although firefighters used a spinal board to assist one person at the scene.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said all of the occupants of the car had been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance as a precaution.
He said: “I can confirm that there were four casualties, one adult and three children.
“All have been transported to Raigmore by ambulance and all are in a stable condition.
“There are not thought to be any serious injuries.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service added that two crews from Invergordon and Dingwall had been sent to assist at the scene as well.
She added: “They assisted the ambulance service and helped to make the scene safe.”
The road was closed for about an hour in order to allow emergency services access to the scene and for the car to be recovered from the trees.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that nobody had been injured in the accident.
Two women required hospital treatment on the same road last year in two separate accidents.
A 65-year-old had to be freed in August after becoming trapped in her car near Invergordon.
And in March another woman was taken to hospital with a neck injury near the road’s junction with the A9 Inverness to Thurso.
