Made in Lochaber has launched a map showing a trail of arts, crafts and locally produced food in the area.
The group of around 130 artists, craft workers and food producers is hoping it’s Lochaber Trail will act as a “where to go and what to see” guide for visitors and local people.
The full colour, fold-out map shows routes across Lochaber, with a numbered guide locating businesses in each area, linked to a key giving a brief description of their activities.
It is printed from a specially commissioned watercolour produced by local artist Felicity Nightingale and is sponsored by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce.
Made in Lochaber secretary Joanne Matheson said: “We wanted to create an eye-catching, informative and quality production that people will keep and visitors will take away as a souvenir, ensuring the message is spread over a wide area for an extended time period.”
She added that the new map was only part of the group’s strategy to raise awareness of what is available in the area.
Chamber chairman Bruno Berardelli said: “This is a fantastic product, which we were delighted to support and very much fits in with the aim of the chamber to promote Lochaber, not only as an area with lots to offer through its diversity of landscape, activities and quality produce, but also as a place to do business.”
Copies of Lochaber Trail leaflets are available free of charge from business outlets throughout the area, from the chamber’s office in Fort William or by contacting Made in Lochaber at info@madeinlochaber.co.uk
