A man has been taken to hospital with a serious injury after his car crashed and flipped onto its roof in Oban town centre today.
The accident happened at 4.45pm in Soroba Road, between Oban High School and the Birchwood Filling Station.
Rush hour traffic is currently at a standstill, but police said one lane of Soroba Road was due to reopen soon.
Police fire and ambulance services all attended the scene.
A police spokesman said: “At 4.45pm police responded to reports of a one vehicle road crash. One man was taken to hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for a serious injury which isn’t life threatening.
“The road remains closed just now. One lane is going to reopen shortly. Police are at the scene. Local diversions are in place.
“It is not currently known how the car came to be on its roof. Inquiries are ongoing.”
