A sailing vessel which capsized in Loch Craignish in Argyll resulted in the third call out in three days for Oban Lifeboat.
Stornoway Coastguard received a “Mayday” call about the vessel at 2.45pm on Monday.
Fortunately, prior to the arrival of the lifeboat the single occupant of the vessel had been picked up by a local boat which subsequently transferred the sailor to another yacht.
As there was no longer anyone in danger, Oban Lifeboat was able to stand down and return to station.
Iain Fulton, lifeboat press officer, said: “This was the third call out in three days for the volunteer crew of Oban Lifeboat who drop everything and leave work as soon as they hear their pagers. It has also been a busy start to the year with 21 call outs since the start of 2016.”
Sunday saw the lifeboat helping a yacht which went aground on rocks to the north of Insh island.
The previous day it went to the aid of a yacht experiencing steering problems near the Lismore light.
