A group of former and current BP employees have embarked on a 250-mile charity cycle across the north of Scotland.
The 70 riders were split into two groups and departed from Skye and Oban yesterday.
They will meet up in Elgin tonight for an overnight stay before setting off towards the finishing point in Aberdeen tomorrow.
Staff have been taking part in the charity event for seven years and have raised a total of £837,000 for charity so far.
Jon Turnbull is one of those involved from the very beginning and was looking forward to the new challenge, in the company of a record number of participants.
He said: “It is particularly exciting to set off for the 2016 challenge with almost twice as many cyclists.
“As well as raising significant funds for those less fortunate, our initial objectives were to promote commitment to fitness and encourage occasional riders to get involved.
“It is therefore very gratifying to see new and former participants set off with us today.”
Every year, the staff members select charities with a local or personal connection.
The beneficiaries of the 2016 ride will be MND Scotland, Charlie House, Support in Mind Scotland and Home-Start Aberdeen.
Iain McWhirter, head of fundraising at MND Scotland, was appreciative of their efforts.
He said: “The BP Coast to Coast cyclists have been amazing supporters for the past eight years and their fundraising efforts have made a huge difference to those affected by MND.
“The money raised is vital in allowing us to continue to fund research into MND and support people affected by the disease.”
