A Skye woman was fined £400 for arranging for her neighbour to be bombarded with unsolicited emails from funeral firms and pet bereavement companies.
Yvette Clemens, 57, admitted carrying out the offence between October 2015 and February this year from her home at Windywell Cottage in Camustianavaig.
At Portree Sheriff Court yesterday, fiscal David Morton said it was an “unusual” case and there was no obvious reason why the woman had done it to neighbour Graeme Billet.
The fiscal said: “They were both married or in relationships. The accused and his victim were neighbours and socialised.
“He received 120 unsolicited emails. It reached the stage he had no option but to involve the police who discovered it was his neighbour who was orchestrating the emails.
“She made a full and frank admission to officers.”
