Injured judo star Stephanie Inglis arrived back in Scotland today and her condition has been described as “stable”.
She landed at Edinburgh Airport at about 12.30pm and was taken by road ambulance to the city’s Western General Hospital, where she is receiving care in a specialist unit.
A statement issued moments ago on a social media page dedicated to providing updates on Stephanie’s progress, read: “Stephanie arrived in The Western General Hospital today just after 1pm. She was taken to an intensive care unit where she was assessed after her long Journey.
“Stephanie is stable, but was sedated for the journey and is currently undergoing tests and scans.”
Stephanie, who is from Daviot, near Inverness, but now lives in Dunfermline, was previously receiving treatment in Bangkok.
Her journey home began last night on a medical flight which included scheduled stops in India, Georgia and Austria.
