Inverness band The Elephant Sessions is celebrating after securing a slot at Glastonbury.
The band will play the Avalon Main Stage at the country’s biggest and best known music festival later this month.
Mandolin player Alasdair Taylor said: “Playing Glastonbury is a childhood dream come true for me. We can’t wait.”
They have already had a busy start to the summer playing festivals all over the UK. Last weekend they headlined the Northern Roots stage at Brew at the Bog and played to a packed out crowd.
The Elephant Sessions have also been chosen to play the main stage at Belladrum Tartan Heart this year.
Mark Bruce, guitarist, said: “In 2012 we were chosen as part of a new music competition to play Belladrum. This year we are delighted that we have been asked to play the main stage. We love this festival and we’re so excited to come back and play again.”
There are a number of exciting gigs lined up through the summer, including some international dates, as well as recording for an eagerly awaited new album following on from the success of their debut release, “The Elusive Highland Beauty”.
To catch up with them on their home turf don’t miss the gig at The Stables in Cromarty on July 1.
Fiddler Euan Smillie said: “It’s been far too long since we’ve done a gig on the Black Isle, I can’t wait to come and play to a home crowd.”
