Two people who were taken to hospital in Caithness following a crash involving their motorcycle suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The accident between the motorcycle and car happened on the A836 at Murkle, near Casltetown, at about 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The male driver of the motorcycle was taken to Caithness General Hospital before being transferred to Glasgow as a precaution to be treated for back injuries. However, a police spokeswoman confirmed this morning that his injuries were not life-threatening.
A female passenger on the bike was taken to Caithness General with a broken leg.
The spokeswoman added that the road was closed for a short time for the recovery of the motorcycle.
