The Stornoway Coastguard helicopter added some extra action to Oban Lifeboat’s open day on Saturday.
The helicopter hovered over the RNLI lifeboat in the bay and winched crew members from the deck to the helicopter and back down.
The open day raised more than £4,000 for Oban Lifeboat, which included a £1,000 donation from MacQueen Charitable Trust.
Fast boat trips around Oban Bay, courtesy of Seafari, were among the many attractions on offer to raise funds for one of Scotland’s busiest lifeboats.
There were also cream teas, burgers, a tombola, face painting, trike rides, a kids painting table, a lucky duck draw and a vintage fire engine on display.
Les Stewart, treasurer of Oban Lifeboat, said: “It was a tremendous success. The coastguard helicopter was quite an exciting spectacle in the bay.”
