It is understood that the devices have been safely destroyed by specialist bomb disposal experts from the Royal Navy. The bombs were found at an area known as Duck Island near Culbin Forest to the east of Nairn. The devices were discovered on Sunday evening by members of the Nairn Coastguard Rescue Team. Nairn’s beaches were used to prepare soldiers and sailors for the D-Day landings in 1944. One of the war head shells (3 were found).
