A man has been airlifted to hospital after an “explosion” aboard a boat on the Caledonian Canal. Emergency services were called to the Laggan Locks area near the A82 Inverness to Fort William road just after 1pm. Firefighters from Fort Augustus and Fort William attended after reports of a “small gas explosion” aboard a cabin cruiser. Crews helped administer first aid at the scene and the man has since been transferred to hospital by air ambulance. No details are currently available about his condition.
