A north lifeboat has rescued a broken down rib which was drifting without power in the Cromarty Firth.
The small craft reported an electrical problem to Aberdeen Coastguard at about 9.35pm on Wednesday, which had immobilised the rib.
The Invergordon lifeboat was launched to come to its aid and qucikly spotted the rib near its reported position.
The rib was brought under tow, along with the sole person aboard, and brought back to a berth within Cromarty harbour.
On the approach to Cromarty the vessel was brought alongside the lifeboat for negotiation into the harbour entrance, with the vessel owner and a crew member on board to help assist securing to a mooring on the pontoon.
Once secure, the Lifeboat made best speed back to her Invergordon West Harbour berth, where she was refueled made ready for service again by 10.30am.
