Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP Ian Blackford said he was disgusted that only three of the 11 members of the influential Scottish Affairs Committee attended its meeting on Skye yesterday (Monday).
Those present were its chairman Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart, Dundee West MP Chris Law and Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Margaret Ferrier.
Mr Blackford, who has spearheaded the campaign for the Brain family to be allowed to remain in Scotland, said: “I am absolutely disgusted that so many members of this committee did not make the journey north of the border to listen to the people who put in a great deal of effort preparing presentations on issues of importance to Scotland.
“They clearly have no interest at all in Scotland and its people.”
He added that he was delighted that Gregg and Kathryn Brain were able to put their case in person and equally delighted that the committee chose to sit in Skye to hear first-hand about the challenges it faces.
