West Highland College UHI is running a range of half-day and one-day workshops and events during July and August to encourage people to learn more about the local area.
Excursions, talks and workshops in Fort William include Local History – Fort William Then and Now with Ian Abernethy and Bill Cameron and Wild Life – In Search of the Big Five with Ian MacLeod, both on Thursday July 14.
Graham MacKenzie will be running a workshop called Genealogy – Research Your Family Tree on Tuesday July 19, Jim Blair will hold a geology session looking at the rocks of Lochaber on Wednesday July 20 and Iain Ferguson will lead a workshop entitled Photography – Glen Nevis Landscapes on Tuesday July 26.
Activities will also be held at the West Highland College UHI centres at Mallaig and Kilchoan in Lochaber and Portree and Broadford on Skye.
These will include an Oakwoods Walk, Seamanship Skills, Local History and Shooting Landscapes.
