Singing star Eddi Reader proved to be the perfect headline act for the 21st Hebridean Celtic Festival in Stornoway.
The festival came to a close after a four-day run which was almost completely sold out.
And Gaelic rockers Runrig closed the event, which featured nearly 50 artists including the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Hayseed Dixie, Julie Fowlis, Astrid, King Creosote, John McCusker and Breabach performing over four days.
HebCelt has grown from a small event attracting fewer than 1,000 fans, to an international showpiece for roots, Celtic and traditional music, drawing an audience of about 15,000.
It is estimated it has generated more than £20million for the local economy over two decades.
Sponsorship by Flybe franchise partner Loganair, a long-time supporter of HebCelt, meant Eddi and her band – husband John Douglas, Boo Hewerdine, Alan Kelly and Kevin McGuire – were able to fly to Lewis for the gig.
Andy Thornton, director of flight operations for Loganair, said: “We’re honoured to carry Eddi and her band to this year’s festival.
“By all accounts the event has been a huge success, showcasing the rich cultural offering of the Western Isles.
“The airline places pride in working with communities across its network and this is another example of our commitment to the Highland and islands”
HebCelt director, Caroline Maclennan, said: “Loganair has been an extremely supportive sponsor of HebCelt over a number of years and we are very grateful for the help again this year in taking Eddi and her band to Stornoway.”
