Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the busy Road to the Isles tourist route in Lochaber from Monday.
The £295,000 resurfacing project at Polnish, between Lochailort and Arisaig, is expected to last for 10 days.
Improvements to a two-mile stretch on the “two plus one” section of the road will be carried out between 7am and 7pm Mondays to Fridays, with no work scheduled to take place during the weekend.
A convoy system will be in operation for the safety of road workers and motorists during the works.
This will be removed outside working hours, but a 30mph speed limit will remain overnight as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Bear Scotland’s north west representative Eddie Ross, said: “These works will greatly improve the road surface on this section of the A830, creating a safer and smoother journey for motorists.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out.”
