A small Argyll fishing village is braced for a welcome invasion this weekend when 100 boats arrive for Scotland’s premier yacht race.
The Scottish Series takes place in Tarbert, Loch Fyne, from Friday to Monday and there will be plenty of shore-side entertainment laid on for visitors and locals to enjoy.
The event, sponsored by Silvers Marine, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Each morning a lone piper will play at the harbour at 8.30am before the racing is flagged off.
There will be a marquee bar on the quay with live music on Saturday and Sunday night from local band The Democrats.
A special 40th anniversary cake will be cut at 6.30pm on Saturday and there will be a fireworks display from Tarbert Castle at 10.30pm on the same night.
Throughout the weekend there will also be an introduction to sailing course and art workshops, making sure there is plenty to see and do both on land and sea.
The final prize giving for the regatta takes place at 4.30pm on Monday.
The event, organised by Clyde Cruising Club, attracts many young participants who come to improve and develop their skills in keelboat racing.
This year Hempel Paints is marking the involvement of young sailors by presenting the acclaimed Crawford McInnes Trophy.
The trophy will go to the youth sailors, (helm or crew) who, in the opinion of the race committee, has given the best performance.
