Work is due to start next week on repainting lines on two stretches of the A82 Inverness to Glasgow road.
But trunk roads maintenance agency Bear Scotland says it is not expected to cause “any significant delays” for motorists on the busy route.
Phase one of the road marking refreshment scheme from Tyndrum to Glencoe Village is programmed to be undertaken between 7am and 7pm during the working week from Monday August 15.
And phase two, covering the A82 through Fort William from Achintore Road to Lochy Bridge Roundabout, is due to be carried out between 8pm and 6am starting on Monday September 12.
A spokesman for Bear Scotland’s north west unit said each phase of the works was expected to take approximately five shifts to complete, weather permitting.
He said: “There will be no weekend working and the road will remain open throughout.
“The works will be undertaken as mobile works using stop/go traffic management.
“Due to the nature of the works being mobile, we do not envisage any significant delays to the travelling public.
“Traffic flows will be monitored and if required works vehicles will pull off the carriageway to allow traffic to clear.”
