A 54-year-old man has died in a tragic accident involving a car in Invergordon.
Emergency services rushed to Gordon Terrace in the Easter Ross town at about 8.40pm yesterday.
It was confirmed this morning that the man died at the scene.
It is believed he may have been injured in an accident involving a car inside a garage.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that emergency services attended an domestic address in Invergordon about 8.40 pm yesterday evening following a report of a 54-year-old man trapped within a garage.
“Unfortunately the man died at the scene.
“There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
The fire service confirmed that they had sent two appliances from Invergordon to the scene, where firefighters assisted the ambulance service.
The specialist heavy rescue unit was also dispatched from Inverness but was not required at the scene.
