Roadworks which will result in night closures of the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road get under way at the end of this month.
Argyll and Bute Council is carrying out essential maintenance between Kintraw Farm and Salachery each night from Monday August 29 to Friday September 2 between 7pm and 6am.
The road will be closed during the works to protect the safety of road workers as the narrowness of the carriageway will restrict the ability of traffic to safely pass the laying equipment.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. A diversion will be in place via the A819 Dalmally to Inveraray road.
The works will cost in the region of £80,000 and will see the road surface being planed out and replaced.
A council spokesman said: “This is part of the council’s £27million investment in Argyll and Bute’s road network over the past four years. The successful investment project has seen a mix of resurfacing work, patching, surface dressing and in-situ surface recycling throughout the council area.
“Since the start of the roads capital programme almost 400 miles of roads have been upgraded, with an overall improvement of 3%, one of the fastest improving road networks in Scotland.
“Almost 90% of Argyll and Bute’s A class roads are now in good or fair condition.”
