Officials of one of the north’s biggest charities have spoken of their gratitude for the public’s support as they start opening shops again.
Highland Hospice’s Beauly Boutique welcomed back shoppers for the first time this week following three months of closure.
During the successful six-hour opening around £500 in sales was generated, marking the charity’s first steps in recouping £250,000 lost in retail sales during the pandemic.
Preparations are now under way by the charity to reopen shops in Dornoch and Thurso in the coming weeks.
Andrew Leaver, head of fundraising and development said: “For the hospice it’s quite significant to have our first shop back open and to see income come back in again.”
The moves comes hot on the heels of the reopening of the charity’s retail warehouse on Harbour Road.
