Several areas have been affected by overnight flooding, with Highland Council issuing an update.
Dingwall – localised flooding with surface water but no current road closures, Mill Street was closed last night but has re-opened. Culbo road and Braefindon road are affected.
Black Isle – flooding at Avoch Primary school has not affected the road, while council staff are sweeping roads at Rosemarkie and Fortrose at the harbour area due to debris from the seawalls being overtopped. The water has since receded.
Golspie – overnight overtopping also caused flooding, but no road closures. Golspie Caravan Park is flooded.
Portmahomack – section of harbour sea wall washed over at the harbour, council engineers carrying out an inspection.
Caithness – some minor clear-up work around Wick harbour area, rocks and stones washed up on Staxigoe harbour. The C1034 Altnaharra – Strathmore – Hope Road, is closed at Braesgill Bridge where a temporary bypass has been washed out. The road is also closed at Strathmore Lodge, near Alltnacaillich Bridge.
Nairn area – no current issues. Council staff are monitoring rivers and tides, while barriers are in place at Nairn.
