The Connel Bridge in Argyll will be closed over five nights next week.
Essential upgrades to traffic signal equipment and street lighting systems will be carried out on the bridge which forms part of the A828 Connel to Ballachulish road.
For the safety of the workforce and users of the bridge it will be necessary to close the road to all vehicles and pedestrians for the duration of the improvements.
Starting at midnight on Sunday May 24 and running overnight to 6am on Monday May 25, the works will continue for five nights and are expected to finish at 6am on Friday May 29. The bridge will be open as normal out with these working hours.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s north west unit representative said: “These works will address previous signalling issues on Connel Bridge, providing a more efficient traffic light system.
“At the same time we will also carry out repairs to the street lighting system to minimise future disruption on the route.
“We’ve scheduled the works to take place overnight in a bid to minimise inconvenience to road users and pedestrians however we urge motorists to plan ahead by checking Traffic Scotland for up to date information.”
