A prison van was involved in an accident on a busy north road.
The G4S van was carrying three people – two staff and one prisoner – between Inverness and Fort William when it went off the A82 near South Laggan at about 8.20am.
No one suffered any serious injuries, although the female driver of the van had a minor injury to her leg.
A police spokesman said that the van had gone completely off the road and was not causing any disruption to traffic.
He added that recovery was being arranged for the vehicle.
Fire crews from Fort Augustus and Spean Bridge both attended the scene but were stood down after helping make the scene safe.
Head of operations for G4S court escorting, Willie Galloway, said: “One of our escort vehicles travelling between Inverness Police Station and Fort William Sheriff Court was involved in an incident on the A82 this morning just after 8.20am.
“There were three people in the vehicle, including one prisoner and two G4S colleagues and we do not believe that anyone has sustained serious injuries.”
A spokesman for the company added that the prisoner had been checked by ambulance staff at the scene before being transferred to another vehicle to continue his journey to court.
The A82 incident happened less than a week after a prisoner and three security staff were taken to hospital after their van overturned on a busy Aberdeenshire road.
The other incident happened on the A952 Fraserburgh to Mintlaw road on Tuesday, October 20, while the van was transporting the prisoner from Fraserburgh to Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
