A man admitted sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl by touching her bottom and attempting to kiss her.
Thomas Barr was originally charged with sexually assaulting her on various occasions between August 1 and September 21 at Dunbeg’s bus stop and outside the village shop.
The 55-year-old went on trial at Oban Sheriff Court on Monday, but yesterday he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of sexually assaulting her on one occasion on September 19 at Jane Road, Dunbeg, by touching her bottom and attempting to kiss her.
A not guilty plea to a second charge of breaking a bail condition not to contact her by shouting at her on Meadow Road, Dunbeg, and repeatedly asking her why she had phoned the police, was accepted.
Sheriff John Herald deferred sentence until December 23 for background reports. Barr, of 13 Meadow Road, Dunbeg, was placed on the sex offenders register in the meantime.
