Police have confirmed that the driver killed yesterday in a crash on the Black Isle was a 19-year-old man from the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A832 Avoch to Munlochy road, near Rosehaugh at 11am and Angus Plowman, 19, from Fortrose was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
Despite emergency services’ best efforts Mr Plowman could not be saved.
The accident happened on a straight stretch of the busy route to the west of the village of Avoch and about two-and-a-half miles from the Munlochy junction.
A report regarding the death will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, as is procedure in incidents of this nature.
The occupants of the other vehicle, a black Renault, received minor injuries as a result of the incident but did not require further treatment.
