Police have confirmed that the body of a man found last month is that of a missing kayaker.
Jason Chung Wai-Ho from Glasgow was last seen with his inflatable craft on Wednesday, January 13 at Traigh Beach near Arisaig, south of Mallaig.
The body of the 40-year-old was found on Rum on Friday, March 25.
He has now been formally identified.
A police spokeswoman said: “His family are understandably upset by their loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.”
Mr Chung Wai-Ho was last seen by an off-duty police officer and member of the Mallaig lifeboat crew who had warned about the treacherous sea conditions.
The alarm was raised about 30 minutes after he was last seen, sparking a major land, air and sea search operation which continued over several weeks.
Mr Chung Wai-Ho’s red Toyota car was found parked near the beach.
His body was finally discovered last month by a member of the public on Rum
