A 23-year-old woman literally did somersaults to avoid being arrested when police arrived at a noisy party.
As Leigh-Anne Ryan’s dog bared its teeth and barked angrily when the two officers tried to handcuff her, Ryan did a flip in her living room at Inverness’s Carnarc Crescent to escape their clutches.
But Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Ryan, who was very drunk, was quickly grabbed and taken to a nearby police station.
However, fiscal depute Michelle Molley told Sheriff Margaret Neilson that after her acrobatics, Ryan had attempted to kick and spit at the constables on July 19 last year.
Ryan yesterday admitted resisting arrest and a further charge of failing to appear for court on April 19. She was fined £100 on that charge and sentence was deferred until September 22 on the other charge for a background report.

An Alness man who tried to assault two supermarket security guards with shopping trolleys will be sentenced next month.
William Arkinson, 44, of Market Square appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted charges of assault and possession of four bars of cannabis resin on December 30 last year.
The court was told that Arkinson had arrived under the influence of a substance in the Tesco store in the early hours of the morning and had been asked to leave.
Fiscal depute Michelle Molley said he reacted by attempting to punch both men and then threw shopping trolleys at them.
Sentence was deferred on Arkinson, who admitted previous convictions, until September 22 for a background report.
An Inverurie woman who admitted her third drink driving related offence at Inverness Sheriff Court was fined £400 and disqualified for a year at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson was told that Carole Mackinnon, Simpson Avenue, Rothienorman also had another similar charge pending in Aberdeen.
The court heard that Mackinnon had refused to provide a breath specimen – the second time she had committed that offence in recent years – while on holiday in Nairn on October 19 last year.
Fiscal depute Michelle Molley said she was with friends and had got very drunk at a local bar.
“When she tried to get into her car, her friends reported her to the police for being, as they put it, blootered.” Ms Molley added.
Mackinnon also admitted had a previous conviction for driving with excess alcohol.
