Two Inverness men were ordered to carry out unpaid community work after a “nasty assault” on a neighbour.
Dylan Drummond, 21, Rosehaugh Road, and 32-year-old digger driver James Paterson of Glendoe Terrace were found guilty after trial earlier this month and assaulting Stephen Mackinnon of Glendoe Terrace by repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body, headbutting him on the face and striking him on the head with an unknown object.
Drummond was ordered to do 300 hours, remain under social work supervision for two years and also do an offender awareness programme.
Paterson was ordered to carry out 250 hours.
Their two co-accused, Peter Moffat, 30, Bruce Gardens and John Burns, 30, of Anderson Street had sentence deferred until September 23 for a background report.
Sheriff Chris Dickson said: “This was a nasty assault on a neighbour.”
