The feats of a Highland Paralympic hero have been praised in the Scottish Parliament.
Hand cyclist Karen Darke, 45, won gold in a time trial event on the streets of Rio this week.
Darke is originally from England but now stays in the Highland capital and is a member of Inverness Cycling Club.
Her success was raised in parliament by Labour MSP David Stewart.
He said ” This is an absolutely amazing feat for Karen and one that is richly deserved.
“I learned that she had serious health issues over the last year, but she showed true grit and determination to succeed and working with her support team at the SportScotland Institute of Sport, she fought back to fitness and realised her dream in securing a gold medal, inspiring us all at the same time.
