A teenage girl has been assaulted on a bus travelling from Inverness in the early hours of the morning.
The girl, who has not been named, was travelling on the service bus between Inverness and Kirkhill when she was attacked by the male passenger.
The incident took place at around midnight on Wednesday, September 21 on the number 28A Stagecoach bus.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to another male passenger who was on the bus at the time.
The man is understood to have intervened and raised concerns about the girl’s safety to the driver.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “This gentleman or anyone else with information are requested to contact the Police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
A spokesperson for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “Passenger safety is our absolute priority and our driver took steps to intervene when concerns were raised.
“We are currently assisting the police with their investigation of this incident which will include supplying them with CCTV footage from the vehicle.”
