A total of 80 jobs will be created by the opening of a new McDonald’s drive-through restaurant in Inverness.
The premises at Inshes Retail Park is set to open its doors for business on Wednesday, October 5.
It will be the fast food giant’s second branch in Inverness, with an existing premises without a drive-through already sited in the city centre.
Proposals were approved by planning officials under delegated powers in May last year.
Work has since taken place at the site beside Bannatyne’s Health Club, and the golden arches and accompanying signage are now up above the door.
The new restaurant will create 40 full-time and 40 part-time jobs, and will also see 20 more move over from McDonald’s franchisee Craig Duncan’s existing restaurants.
Mr Duncan, who has more than doubled his business this year and now owns eight restaurants across Aberdeen and the Highlands, said: “I am really excited to be opening a new restaurant here in Inverness. It is fantastic to be able to help contribute to the local economy and create 80 jobs within the city I live in. We have lots of exciting plans for when the restaurant opens to help us get better acquainted with our local community and all new and existing staff will also be able to make the most of McDonald’s excellent training programmes and career opportunities.”
