A 25-year-old former Beauly man who stole clothing from the Primark store in Inverness was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid community work yesterday.
Liam Johnston, who previously resided at Fairlie View, and had now moved to Fort William, admitted stealing £87 worth of jackets, trousers and boxer shorts on January 13, 2016 at Inverness Sheriff Court.
A Nairn youth grabbed a spanner from the boot of his car when a friend of his became involved in an argument, Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
But a passer-by saw Lewis McLean, of Cameron Road, take the tool and hide it by his leg and phoned the police,
The court was told he returned it to his vehicle when the situation calmed down and did not use it.
McLean admitted possessing an offensive weapon on April 2, 2016 in Camperdown Road and had sentence deferred until November 3 for a background report.
A 20 year old Inverness man was told spitting at a police officer was “unacceptable” when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday,
Jordon Bright, of Suilven Way, admitted shouting, swearing and challenging people to fight in Academy Street on June 3.
He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a policeman.
Before hearing the facts, Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood deferred sentence until November 3 for a background report.
He told Bright: “Behaving in that way towards a police officer is completely unacceptable.”
